Lightswitch with basic authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created a ASP.NET Web API Odata in VS2012 and published it to a Win 2008 R2 Server with basic authentication on IIS. I then created a Lightswitch HTML application that uses the Web API. I published it to the Win 2008 R2 Server and in the Web config the connection to the odata has my credentials in the connection string.

    connectionString="Service Url=http://blahs.blah.com/blah/odata;Is Windows Authentication=False;Domain=d;User Name=u;Password=p;Allow Invalid Certificate=False" />

    How do I setup lightswitch to use basic authentication and pass through the security into my web api?

  • I turned on Windows Authentication on the Odata API and changed the connection string in the Lightswitch to:

    connectionString="Service Url=http://blahs/blah/odata;Is Windows Authentication=True;Domain=d;User Name=u;Password=p;Allow Invalid Certificate=False" />
