Questions about Interfaces implementation of OSC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Outlook team,

    I have a question about Outlook Social Connector Provider development.

    So there are 4 interfaces that we need to implement(ISocialPerson, ISocialProfile,ISocialProvider, ISocialSession), and there are many different functions inside of them.

    For example, in interface ISocialSession, there is a method called FindPerson().. the function description is "Gets a string that represents one or more persons who match the userID parameter." So in this method, i need to return the specific person or persons information based on the given userID? How about the person's information's format?

    Thanks!

    Best,

    Yulan

  • Hi Yulan He,

    Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum.

    For the documentation of Outlook Social Connector Provider Interfaces, you can see from here.

    For the FindPerson method you've mentiond, you can refer to this page or seen as below.

    ISocialSession::FindPerson

    Gets a string that represents one or more persons who match the userID parameter.

    HRESULT _stdcall FindPerson([in] BSTR userId, [out, retval] BSTR* result);

    Parameter
    userId

    [in] A social network user ID, SMTP address, or display name of a person.

    result

    [out] An XML string that represents one or more persons who match the identification information specified by the userId parameter.

    Remarks

    If one or more persons match the FindPerson request, this method returns the information for those persons in the result parameter. The result XML string must comply with the schema definition for friends, as defined in the schema for Outlook Social Connector (OSC) provider extensibility.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
