Connecting to SAP BW with ADOMD.NET data provider: Error with property "SFC_TICKET" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Visual Studio community,

we are facing problems by establishing a SSO connection to SAP BW by using the ADOMD.NET data provider. To be more specific we have issues creating the connection string.

We generated a SAP Ticket and tried to make us of the connection string property “SFC_TICKET”. We got an error message by using following connection string

    Provider=MDrmSap; Data Source=http://XXXXX/xmla; Extended Properties=\"SFC_CLIENT=100; SFC_LANGUAGE=EN; SFC_TICKET=Here the SAP ticket”;

Error Message: The given key was not present in the dictionary.

Is there a workaround for this error?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Achim

  • Hi Heisenberg2000,

I have seen the article, there is not a complete connection string which contains 'SFC_TICKET' property in the article, it only has little description about it. I really not familiar with it, sorry for little help. After research, I find a forum which is for SAP NetWeaver, I think you can try to post the question there, you may get the solution soon.

  • Hi Heisenberg2000,

    Welcome to MSDN Forum.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with ADOMD.NET, but I searched out some links I think may help you, please refer to it.

  • Hi Allen,

thanks for your reply. I read all links you listed above. Unfortunately the error persists. The error is specific to the property "SFC_TICKET" of the ADOMDClient connection string.

    1. Has anyone experienced problems when using the "SFC_TICKET" property?

    2. Or has anyone ever tried the "SFC_TICKET" property? Could anyone provide a connection string example with this property?

    Best regards,

    Heisenberg2000

  • Hi Heisenberg2000,

Are you sure the 'SFC_TICKET' property is a valid property of the ADOMD.NET connection string? I have searched the property but didn't find any information about it.

    Best Regards

  • Hi Allen,

yes, I'm sure that this is a valid property. Please note following document:

    1. http://www.simba.com/docs/Connecting-to-SAP-BW-with-Microsoft-Excel-2007-PivotTables-and-ODBO.pdf

      - On page 17 the 'SFC_TICKET' property is mentioned when connecting to MS Excel 2007. The property should be placed in the 'Extended Properties' field.

    2. Not really 'SFC_TICKET' related but similar: When creating a new 'Data Source' in a 'Report Server Project' following properties are listed ('XMLA Service URL'/ 'SSO Ticket Issuing URL').:
