SQL Server 2008 Cluster Issue... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There...

Ok here is the issue.  I have a 3 node cluster on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition 64 bit edition.  I have 2 instances of SQL Server 2008 enterprise edition installed on the cluster.  Each instance to each node.  So I am attempting to install a 3rd instance for the 3rd node in the Active\Active cluster.  I go through the sql server installation and when I get to the Cluster Node Configuration screen where I have to choose the SQL Server Instance Name and there are no entries in the drop down.  So I click on 'Next' and I get the following error message:  There is no SQL Server failover cluster available to join

So I am stuck at this screen and not able to move forward.  Please advise.. I am sure I am missing something.
