SQL server un-Installation

    Question

  • Hi,

    we are not able to uninstall SQL server in production servers, we are getting different type of errors. Kindly suggest how to uninstall the SQL setup else any other tool we have to remove SQL service. Its very urgent.

    Could you please upload the SQL Server log which is located at %programfiles%\MicrosoftSQL Server\%120 or 130%\Setup Bootstrap\Log\ to OneDrive and share the link in the thread? That could help a lot.Also please refer to this article about uninstalling.

    This issue was resolved after deleting the below registry key as suggest by Alberto.

    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server 

    --HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer
