  • Universal Windows Platform apps, despite the name, cannot target Windows 7/8/8.1, only Windows 10 devices – PC, tablet, phone, Xbox, HoloLens and Surface Hub.

What's a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app?

  • Hi samn.master,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

I agreed with Carlos, the UWP platform is only available for windows 10 devices and if you want to use it on windows 7 device, you can have a try with WPF technology, please have a look at this similar issue: Can UWP apps be ported to Windows 7?

Meanwhile, you can also check this discussion: UWP for windows 7
