  • Just want to ask must we use RDS 4 to program Eddie platform robot or we can just use microsoft visual studio with SDK to program it ?

  • You do not need to use RDS4 to make EDDIE do something. You can connect a PC up to the serial port on the controller board on EDDIE and send commands over that connection to make EDDIE move and turn etc and even get values from the sensors. Knowing this, you could write an application in .NET for example that communicates with EDDIE over the serial interface. Doing this means RDS4 is not being used.

  • Parallax has documented the command set for their Eddie IO controller at:  http://www.parallax.com/portals/0/downloads/docs/prod/robo/eddie/550-28990-EddieCommandSet-v1.1.pdf

    Otherwise as jodonnell said it is really just a matter of sending commands to the Propeller control board and receiving the appropriate response.
