Webview control is not working

    Question

  • Hi Friends,

    I need a help regarding WebView control.

    My app has a webview control which does an http request and opens a url within the App.

    In my testing it is not opening that URL and showing server issue. When I am running fiddler on the machine and testing on the same machine then it is working fine.

    I am not sure why this issue is there. During Debug I observed that WebViewNavigationCompletedEventArgs.IsSuccess is always giving false when I am not running Fiddler otherwise it is giving true when fiddler is running.

    Please help me where I am missing something.

    Below is the code snippet for NavigationCompleted.

    NavigationCompleted(WebView sender, WebViewNavigationCompletedEventArgs e)
        {
            if (e.IsSuccess)
            {
                //Do some operation
            }
            else
            {
                //Show Error message.
            }
        }

    Thanks.

  • Hi Sandeep,

    Based on my knowledge, the webview control is intended to provide some basic HTML rendering and to allow app developer to leverage some existing HTML resource within store app. So please make the web page simple or use another approach to work around.

    Since you cannot post the URL, I have less information to make it go forward. If you own the web site, I would recommend you create a new simple page for displaying content in webview in store app.

    Additional content: Ten things you need to know about WebView.

    If you still have questions, please feel free to let me know.

  • Hi Bill,

    Sorry to say but due to some privacy I can't share the URL.

    Below are some more observations for this issue which might be useful for you.

    When I am using http://www.google.com then it is working fine.

    Below are some links which is related to this issue. Only difference is that they are getting issue for their http request but same issue I am getting for WebView control.
