  • I am not 100% sure what you are trying to achieve but if you want to update list settings using CSOM/REST then check the following properties for CSOM.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.client.list_properties.aspx

If you are looking for something more specific then let us know.

  • via CSOM it is not possible to set all settings shown on List settings page (CSOM is not so rich as basic server object model used on this page), but it still possible to do many things. Tell which exact setting you need to change and we will check is it possible.

  • Hi, This is my observation using Csom or REST:

      • Unable to be read from server
        • Launch forms in dialog
        • Automatic index management
        • Allow items to be edited using Quick Edit
        • Enable audience targeting
      • Unable to be set at the server
        • Custom Send to Destination
      • Rating setting seems possible to be backed up and restored, but is not visible in GUI as enabled. This is despite that the items are showing their ratings as expected.

  • Hi Palak

I have posted a while back how to retrieve lists Schema as XML using CSOM and PnP. It will have all the list settings as well views and fields.

    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Export-Lists-Schema-as-XML-c472d82c?redir=0

I have another article using PnP to demonstrates how to create the lists using the exported XML.

You can have a look and see if it fits your requirement.
