Report Viewer

Question

Hi guys.
I have visual c# 2010 express editon. I was looking for a report viewer and found out that isn't integrated in the default installation of express edition, so i downloaded report viewer 2010 redistributable and install it. I tried to find it in the toolbox but no luck. I also looked at the choose item menu under the .net components but it wasn't there. Can you guys help me how to install it if it's possible at all.
Tnx for your answers and i'm sorry for my bad english.

I downloaded the 2010 SP1 redistributable and installed it. I then referenced Microsoft.ReportViewer.WinForms from the GAC. I was able to add a ReportViewer to a Form without problem. I don't have a report to test it.

No! You can't usually make anything with a viewer. Follow the Connect entry for designing reports.Saturday, July 21, 2012 10:37 PM -

I thought the tool recommended by Connect was free? How did you determine there was a cost?

Hi again.
I have downloaded the sql express with advanced services. I have the bids. I am able to add a report viewer now in the visual c++ 2008 but ven i try to click to a "design a new report" i got an error message.
I am running c++ express in administrator mode. Any help? If i run the SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio i am able to do a report but this doesn't help me so much because i can't generate the report at runtime.- Edited by Warkec Sunday, July 22, 2012 1:35 PM

Hi Warkec,
Do you mean that the current user is administrator?
If so, please try run the C++ express as administrator. Right Click the C++ express and click "Run as administrator".
If the issue is not solved yet, I would suggest you to create a thread in the Visual Studio Report Controls Forum.
Please let us know the result.
