Can't find -> Common/StandardStyles.xaml in my project RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I want to add some appbarStyles to my project, but Common/StandardStyles.xaml does not exist...

I had it when programming in VS12, but now that I have VS13 I'm not able to find it...

I've tried creating a Basic Page, then it creates the Common folder, but not the StandardStyles.xaml.

    PLS help

  • Hi,

Just as Brunout says, the standartstyles.xaml was removed in win 8.1 store apps. There's a resource loading optimization that's enabled by the app model and the Windows Runtime XAML parser. For Windows 8, the XAML parser loaded resources from app.xaml and created each of them as objects as part of startup. That wasn't very efficient if there were big dictionaries there. Also, those resources included the items that were needed by all three themes, and two of the three themes wouldn't even be active.
