AP .NET application connection to Oracle database through Oracle client RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • hi All,

Issue 1 : I have application mostly .exe and service which are in ASP.NET 4.0 code base and 32 bit. the application connects to Oracle database through 32bit Oracle client to fetch data. Currently I am trying to upgrade/recompile the applications to 64 bit. To make the connection compatible I have installed 64 bit Oracle client in the Windows Server 2008 R2. but when am trying to execute the application am getting below error :

    Machine configuration : R2 windows 2008 server , 64 bit , Microsoft .NET framework 4.0, VS 2010 C# [application]

Error Uploading to SQL DB: datatable row count was: 1, Error is : Attempt to load Oracle client libraries threw BadImageFormatException.  This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed

So Can you please help me by suggesting certain ideas where:

    1. I won't need to use Oracle client for connection.  OR

    2. What should be done when the exception is occurring as both Client and application are in 64 bit. OR

    3. Any other suggestion regarding the issue is really welcome.
