    @ngquoctrong, I tried your html code with changing the plugin URLs with my test server and it worked for me.

    Your web server needs to serve a valid crossdomain.xml (e.g. http://www.yourdemowebserver.com/crossdoamin.xml ) to make this work.

    Below you can find a sample crossdomain.xml which allow all domain requests.

    If this doesn't helps, can you please send a fiddler output?

    Thanks,

    Cenk

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <allow-access-from domain="*"/>
    </cross-domain-policy>

    Hi,

    When will be supported PlayReady and Live Smooth Streaming playback? 2013Q1?

    I tested it o Samsung Smart TV 2011  model

    • http://devplatem.vo.msecnd.net/Sintel/Sintel_H264.ism/manifest   - play with about 30sec long buffering (the same on desktop)
    • http://playready.directtaps.net/smoothstreaming/SSWSS720H264/SuperSpeedway_720.ism/Manifest  - play, but image is multiplicated (four times), and there is jitter
    • http://ecn.channel9.msdn.com/o9/content/smf/smoothcontent/bbbwp7/big buck bunny.ism/manifest - not playing at all - black screen

    That big buck bunny example is in VC-1 format and that is not yet supported. I guess that's why it's not playing.

    @MariuszW, Thank you very much for testing the plugin and feedbacks. We are working on the new features and improvements for nex releases.

    For SuperSpeedway_720.ism, are the issues occuring only on Samsung Smart TV or you can also see the multiplicted and jitter on desktop as weel?

    For big buck bunny.ism, as vekka mentioned this content encoded using VC1 codec and playback of VC1 codec isn't supported with the plugin.

    Thanks,

    Cenk

    Hi,

    is it possible to get the bitmapdata of the video? I'm trying with that code:

    if ( !_bitmapSet )
    {
    	var viewable:NetStreamDisplayObjectTrait = _element.getTrait( MediaTraitType.DISPLAY_OBJECT ) as NetStreamDisplayObjectTrait

    	if (viewable)
    	{
    		trace("viewable")
    		_obj = viewable.displayObject as DisplayObject

    		if (_obj)
    		{
    			_bmpData = new BitmapData( 200, 200, false, 0xFFFFFFFF )
    			_bmp = new Bitmap( _bmpData )
    			addChild( _bmp )
    			_bitmapSet = true
    		}
    	}
    }

    if ( _obj )
    {
    	trace("draw")
    	_bmpData.draw( _obj )
    }

    Where "_element" is the "MediaElement"

    But my bitmap is always white.

    Thanks.

    I am unable to get a VOD stream to play.  I have followed the example and downloaded all of the SWF files so they are hosted on my webserver (i also tried them using the existing links in the example).  I made sure that the media files are H264/AAC.

    Here is the link to my test page with the OMSF player:

    http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/osmftest/vod.htm

    You can see it playing here through a Silverlight player:

    http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/osmftest/bigbuckbunnyh264/default.html

    Did I miss something when I was copying the example code?

    BTW, current plugin doesn't supports playback of Live Smooth Streaming. We are working on this feature and targeting for the next release. When you say I'm able to get this working with Live, is it Live Smooth Streaming?

    Hi,

    I'm having a similar issue with live smooth streaming...

    Here is my code :

    <html>
    <body>
    <object width="640" height="480">
    <param name="movie" value="http://www.webcam.pjcci.ca/StrobeMediaPlayback.swf"></param>

    <param name="wmode" value="direct"></param>
    <embed src="http://www.webcam.pjcci.ca/StrobeMediaPlayback.swf"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    allowscriptaccess="always"
    allowfullscreen="true"

    </object>
    </body>
    </html>

    I placed the MSAdaptiveStreamingPlugin-v1.0.3-osmf2.0.swf and StrobeMediaPlayback.swf on the root of my website, but I all I get is the error "We are unable to connect to the content you requested...".  Crossdomain.xml doesn't seem to be the issue.

    Here is what fiddler tells me :

    # Result Protocol Host URL Body Caching Content-Type Process Comments Custom
    1 200 HTTP www.webcam.pjcci.ca /flash.html 1,080 text/html chrome:7332

    Hello,

    I'm trying to troubleshoot a tcp based issue through our webvpn.  My question is related to how the plugin handles selecting a specific client tcp port to send  a segment through?  The ports look random. Is there an algorithm built in to the plugin or is this a server IIS setup issue?

    I plan to look through the flash source but wanted to see if there was a specific path I need to start down.

    Thanks,

    Hi James,

    Clients select random ports when they are sending requests to the server. This isn't related to the plugin or Flash. Underlying OS TCP stack determines this and varies depending on the OS implementation. As an example Windows XP, 2003 uses random ports between tcp 1024 -  5000 and Windows 7, 8, 2008 use tcp ports over 49152. You can configure the random ports for a specific range, but that can limit clients connection capabilities.

    Hi,

    Thank you for this plugin.

    We have setup a test page at http://bit.ly/155c2fR. We are using the latest version of the plugin i.e MSAdaptiveStreamingPlugin-v1.0.3-osmf2.0.swf

    While playing video if we seek behind current time, the player downloads the fragements again. Is there a way to cache downloaded fragments so that they are not downloaded again?

    If yes, how to enable it?

    If no, this is a really required feature. It is especially useful on low bandwidth connections.

    Thanks

    Tuesday, April 16, 2013 3:53 AM
  • User-1780032080 posted

    @bcodev; We check the link you shared. Currently the fragments are returning expires and cache-control headers (max-age=2419200) and in our tests we saw that seeking to previously watched part doesn't cause redownload. The fragments are retrieved from the cache.

    One scenario might cause triggering redownloading can be, when you seek back the internal bandwidth logic can select a new quality which doesn’t used previously. Since this new quality data isn't cached, it needs to be downloaded from the network.

    Thanks,

    Cenk

    Hi there,

     I’m testing the plugin (MSAdaptiveStreamingPlugin-v1.0.3-osmf2.0.swf ) with StrobeMediaPlayback player 2.0.

    It works well for the majority of videos. But one video has issues. The player plays 2 seconds of the video and then jumps couple times and then stops. The behaviour is the same for local player and for remote player ( http://osmf.org/dev/2.0gm/StrobeMediaPlayback.swf )

    The video in question is Wildlife.wmv. It is shipped with Windows 7.

    Following steps are used to prepare smooth streaming package:

    1)       x264.exe --output NUL --pass 1 --bitrate 2962 --ssim  --stats "Wildlife.stats" --keyint 60 --min-keyint 60 --no-scenecut  Wildlife.wmv

    x264.exe --pass 2 --bitrate 2962 --ssim --output "mp4\Wildlife_2962.mp4" --stats "Wildlife.stats" --keyint 60 --min-keyint 60 --no-scenecut  Wildlife.wmv

    2) Wildlife_2962.mp4 + Wildlife.xml are processed by “MP4 video files to H.264 Smooth Streams” job in Transform Manager

    3) Then ism + ismc + ismv files are copied to web server

    Silverlight player plays the ism without any problems.

    Original test included multiple bitrates files in the package.

    I’m wondering what the problem is.

    Thank you!

    Hi Cenk.

    I resolved my problem with the old SmoothStreaming source.

    But I have some questions:

    1st :<c t=10000000 r=150 />

    I'm looking for "r" in "2.2.2.6 StreamFragmentElement" ("Smooth Streaming Protocol Specification")

    and I can't find it.

    2nd:

    When I insert OSMF plugin in flex builder the player works fine.

    When I install apk on Android device I don't have any sound.

    I didn't try it on iOS yet but I'm planning to test it soon.

    Thank you

    Alex

    I found another problem:

    _mediaPlayerSprite.addEventListener(MediaPlayerStateChangeEvent.MEDIA_PLAYER_STATE_CHANGE, onPlayerStateChange);

    private function onPlayerStateChange(event:MediaPlayerStateChangeEvent) : void
    {
    var state:String;
    state = event.state;
    switch (state)
    {
    case MediaPlayerState.LOADING:
    // A new source is started to load.
    break;
    case MediaPlayerState.READY :
    // Add code to deal with Player Ready when it is hit the
    //first load after a source is loaded.
    break;
    case MediaPlayerState.BUFFERING :
    break;
    case MediaPlayerState.PAUSED :
    break;
    // other states ...
    }
    }

    doesn't work.

    I seem to be having issues trying to get the updated plugin to work with a live stream.  I get the error "error downloading smooth streaming fragment" when I try and access my live stream.  I don't get any issues with a VOD stream.  When the player loads the live stream I get the proper current run time of the streamand  I can see the video and audio bitrates.  It tries to adjust and select a bit rate, then times out and gives me the error.

    Hi,

    This is amazing!

    One quick question, is there an available parameter for a thumbnail?

    The autoplay=false param does not seem to prevent the video playing automatically

    Have you stopped development of this great plugin? With Playready support this would be real killer.

    Hi,

    Works great for me for VOD assets. Not for Live. Live content that works fine with Silverlight players fails to playback with OSMF Player + Plugin (stream not found null). Any known limitations for live ?

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards

    @vekka; Thanks for your interest in our plugin. Currently SS plugin doesn't support PlayReady protected content and unfortunately it isn't possible to add this feature since Flash pipeline doesn't supports PlayReady. We are working on different solutions and it is very early to share some details and dates.

    @Guille80, we don't have any know issues with live playback. Could you please share the manifest and URL so we can take a look?

    Thanks,

    Cenk
