Connecting 2 separate powerpivot data tables RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 2 files with powerpivot tables and I would like to create a pivot from the combined tables. Is there a way to do this or do I need to somehow transfer the data from one file to another and create a realtionship locally?

    Thank you,

    Nathan

Answers

  • well, you do not have to open both models at the same time
you "just" have to create a new model that combines both models in terms of the metadata (tables, columns and relationships) and then refresh the new Model

  • Need to use Sharepoint for a Powerpivot file to serve as a data source.

  • if you have 2 files with 2 powerpivot models and you want to combine them, why cant you just combine the powerpivot models and create a report on top of the combined model?

    wouldnt this solve your problem?

  • How would I combine the pwer pivot models? The files are huge and its not easy to open up both files at the same time.
