  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply. But when I tried to install the Visual Studio 2008 SP1 there is this error msg:

    Installation Requirements:

A compatible version of Visual Studio 2008 was not detected on the system. This update is designed for only the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 (ENU) product family, and is not compatible with any Express editions.

This is driving me crazy. Please assist.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Regards

    Alvin

  • Hello,

If you have VS 2008 Express Edition installed, then please VS 2008 Express Edition with SP1 from the following link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14597.

SP1 is required to install SQL Server.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello.

I have exactly the same problem, but in my case it is absolutely new Win 7 64 bit HOME edition.

From "Programs and Features" I can see that there is no Visual Studio related installations at all (no Visual C++ nor Visual C# nor anything else).

So in my case when I click on the link above http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=14597 and try to download and run, I am still getting SP1 related error message.

Many thanks in advance for your help.
