Creating Flat File Schema with Positional Structure RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a file input like this....

    QD KWIF1KU
    .AMSFMKL 021029
    FFM/4
    1/KL459/03MAR/AMS/PH-AOH
    KWI
    074-24107451HOHKWI/P1K55.7MC0.22T6/FIXING
    /KWI....
    ...
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .

I am using Delimated character to split file with "/"

In "074-24107451HOHKWI/P1K55.7MC0.22T6/FIXIN" I want to use Positional to extract my node value.

074 is my prefix of Air Line code...
    then -
    then 8 Digit Flight code.
    Then 3 Character Source
    Then 3 Character destination

    Now my problem starts here...

I have to split the next node....
    P is packages...1 character.
    then Number of Packages..
Then code of 1 character of Weight Unit (k - Kilogram)
Now problem is weight is the next value that is uncertain. 55.7 is the value...How can I extract that value. In specification it may be very upto 7 digit decimal value...

Can anyone guide me how can I solve this problem.....

  • Hi,

Are you trying to process Cargo-imp based document? From the looks of it this message seems cargo-imp. Currently Biztalk EDI solution does not support cargo-imp.

  • Dear Upendra,

    Yes,

You are right I am trying to import Cargo-IMP message. Is there any Schemas available or shall I need to prepare manually.

    Thanks for your observation.

  • BizTalk doesn't provide OOB schema for cargo-imp. You need to either prepare them yourself or use Covast based EDI solution( 2006 R2) where these schemas are provided.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Bhola,

I agree as you posted answer that Cargo-IMP will not support the BizTalk.

As you told me that Covast based EDI solution will provide schemas, I have client area's ID and Password to access the Schemas of Covast. Do you have any idea which Schema will support the Cargo-IMP "FFM" and "FWB" Message.

    Thanks,
