Opening Mapped Drives available at startup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an XP PC (A)  mapped to another XP PC's (B) hard disk drive. The mapped folder is very large (> 3.0 and < 4.0 GB files and folders). It is mapped to "P " using the net use persistent: yes command in a batch file and executed at startup time. When PC A wants to make its initial connection (after reboot) to this mapped folder using the application installed on it (A) the application won't start because it seems the folder is not primed and ready to be used. If I go to START|COMPUTER  I see the device and mapping. Then I double click on the mapping and wait a while and when that's completed the application will start OK. Once this procedure is followed the mapped folder access is no problem until the next reboot.  If this is not something that the net use command cannot make right is there a program I can include in my startup BAT file that will allow me to kick start this folder for use by the application.?
