    Register-SPWorkflowService : The root of the certificate chain is not a

    trusted root authority.

    our https site is working and we have third party certificate registered. The workflow is working fine on http but above error for https. Any idea?

  • We fixed it by redeploying workflow manager with proper SSL. Anyways thanks Scott for your suggestion.

  • SharePoint needs to trust certs...

    $root = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2("c:\Root.cer")
    New-SPTrustedRootAuthority -Name "WorkflowService Root Authority" -Certificate $root
