Target platform choices for VB projects - AnyCPU only choice in pull down menu in one project while x64/x32 appears in another project

    Question

  • Visual Studio 2015: On one project I have Any CPU/x64/x32 choice of platform target for the Compiler option pull down menu,

while on another project I have only the AnyCPU option.

Both have the Target processor pull down with Any/x64/x32 options though.

    Why are the choices different?

The references used in both solutions are identical, so I don't see why the choices are different.

Is there a switch somewhere to allow the target choices?

  • Hi Cyrille Précetti,

You select the Any CPU/x64/x32 options from the drop-down list on the Toolbar as below image shows, is it right?

Please select the Configuration Manager in this drop-down list and it will show a Configuration Manager window which can let us manage the platform.

Please choose <New> option in the drop-down of "Active Solution Platform" to add x64 and x32 platform to the list. Then you can choose them in the Toolbar directly.

After add x64 and x32 to the list, I create a new project and there just one option of Any CPU in the new project. According to the test result, I think the settings just work with current project, which will lead to the different choice in different project.

    Best Regards,
