Data folder not loading with new project RRS feed

  • Hello All,

    Please assist if you can. Thank you in advance....When creating a new integration project, the data folder to create a new data source does not load.  Can someone tell me Please what I am missing?

    Ensure you have the expanded up the Connection Managers window.

  • Make sure the folder is accessible for the user to run the SSIS.

  • Hi t’lee,

    If I understand correctly, your SSIS version is SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014. So when you create a new SSIS project in SSDT, the project is configured to use the project deployment model by default.

    Please note that we can add Data Sources only to projects that are configured to use the package deployment model. So there is no Data Sources folder in Solution Explorer. To show the Data Sources folder, we can right-click the project name to select ‘Convert to Package Deployment Model’ to convert the project to Package Deployment Model.

    Besides, if a project is configured to use the project deployment model, we can use connection managers created at the project level to share connections, in place of using data sources.
