SQL Azure Data Sync API? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've set up SQL Azure Data Sync with a simple synchronization and have started testing.  I'm looking at the Sync logs via the CTP portal and was wondering if these sync logs could be retrieved in another way?  Is there any way to reach these logs another way?  The scenario I'm thinking about is monitoring the syncs.  If a failure occurs it may appear in the portal, but is there any mechanism to get alerts on these?  Is there an API that I can hit to pull the sync log data?

  • Hi Mike, this is a old thread. But wanted to respond on this so that you get the information you were looking for.

In the SQL Azure Data Sync Preview, we do not have monitoring APIs yet. The portal logs are the only way to find status of syncs today.

I would encourage you to submit a feature request for the functionality you are wanting at:

We will take a look at the all the requests when planning for the next refresh.

  • Hi Mike Wood,

Since SQL Azure Data Sync is currently in CTP and available in SQL Azure Labs, I move this thread to the SQL Azure Labs Support forum for more help.

  • Thanks Mahesh.  I was able to provide feedback to the team around when I published this initial question.  More detailed logging and monitoring is definately something that needs to be included.
