Linq and Three-tier and Microsoft Scaffolding RRS feed

  • Question

  • Guys,

Does anyone have any idea about any article where the best ways to use Linq to SQL in a three-thier application are explained?

It looks to be that three-tier is not as fashionable as it used to be, specially because the new Microsoft scaffolding is moving back to the two-tier paradigm...

    Regards,
    erich.

  • If you want a three-tiered architecture then your object-relational mapper belongs firmly in the data tier and you should project onto your own UI domain objects so that the ORM-generated entity objects are not passed between tiers.
