How to get programmatically the name of a unicode char RRS feed

  • Question

    How can I get the description(name) of a char in English? Say it is not composite, or the string it comes from is normalized(form C)

    public static string GetDescription(char c){

    //how to return the description?
    }

    For example GetDescription('ñ') should return "Latin small letter n with a tilde"

    TIA!

    MohantaD,

    Thanks for trying.

    I need the individual char names not the encoding name.
