Surface Pro 3 not detecting Kinect. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Alright, so I bought a kinect for xbox 360 recently, hoping to get some basic 3D scanning capacity as I'm attempting to enter the 3D design field. I first tried plugging it into my main desktop computer, installed runtime, SDK, etc, and kinect worked like a charm. I was able to use it as a webcam, my 3D apps could access it, all was good. But then I learned about 3D builder, and thought it would be easier to prep it for doing more than webcamming using 3D Builder over Blender. For various reasons, I haven't installed Windows 10 on my desktop computer yet, so I decided to install the necessary software on my Surface and do it from there. But when I plug in the kinect and enter 3D builder, it gives me an error message saying no kinect detected. I tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling it. I also looked for answers

    and here:

nothing any of them recommended has helped in the least, so I'm asking on my own. Surface still runs 8.1, just so you know.
