Azure Hyper-V server standalone (not Hyper-V role) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to install Hyper-V server standalone (not Hyper-V role) onto an Azure VM, is that possible? The reason for it is because I would like to run a few Linux VMs with dynamic memory and Azure VMs cannot be configured with dynamic memory. I see it is supported to install Windows Server 2016 and enable the Hyper-V role. But I do not need Windows Server, I'd rather use the free Hyper-V Server and run nested VMs that way.

    Thank you
