Multi Language

Hi
I have this site which I have finished developing. This site is in Danish. I would like to have the same site in different languages, among some which are non European (means non-alfabetical).
The only thing that I want to change is the text (normal text, and text inside buttons, labels etc.).
Since the users of this site are all located in Denmark. I'm not interested in converting things like currency, time or date format etc.
I'm imagining a functionality like where I have some links saying; English, Indian etc. And when the user clicks one of the links, all text are converted to that language.
I don't have any real experience with multi language sites, the ones I have done I have done by having two separate files one for each language, and this procedure is just not a good way of doing things, very unrecommended.
I would like some input from guys who have already been here.
Thanks for reading and your help.
