Build error (assembly couldn't found) when local ADLA account is used.

  • When I launch my query with C# UDF on local environment, VS report "meta data could not be found" error for all of .NETFramework assemblies.

    - Japanese

    エラー  'C:\Program Files %28x86%29\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\.NETFramework\v4.6.1\Facades\System.ComponentModel.dll' メタデータが見つかりませんでした。 DataLake  0

    - English

error  'C:\Program Files %28x86%29\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\.NETFramework\v4.6.1\Facades\System.ComponentModel.dll' meta data could not be found. DataLake  0

error occurs for all of 53 dlls in the folder.

I guess the folder encoding might cause some error to refer these assemblies.

Same code runs on ADLA on cloud well.

    My env :

    VS 2017 15.6.6

Azure Data Lake Tools for VS 2.3.3000.5

  • Can you please try the below steps and see if that resolves the issue:

    1. Click Build on Menu bar -> configuration.
    2. Verify if the build checkbox next to the project you are trying to build is checked. If it has already been checked, uncheck and check it again and try to build again
