The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable ERROR

Question

Hi,

I am very new to streaminsight. I have installed the streaminsight in my machine and I am trying to open evnts in event flow debugger. But I am getting following error. The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable ERROR.

Even if I refresh my server then also I am getting the same. Please can any one help me to resolve this issue.

Hi Chinni,

Just to be sure, are you trying to connect to your StreamInsight server, or load a trace file?
If first, can you give us the address you enter?

It seems to be a server error. Knowing that the StreamInsight server is a classical WCF service hosted in a Windows service application, you may want to put a trace on it (by locating it in the Program Files and changing its config file, as described in this article). This will give you information on what's happening at the server level.

Hi Marius,

Thank you for your reply. I have downloaded the streaminsight from microsoft web site, after that i have installed in my machine as per the instructions given in MSDN. I did not do any settings after instalation. While instalation also I have given only the instance name. After sucessfull instalation, I am trying to open eventflow debugger. In the eventflow debugger I am trying to connect the server. Then I am getting above mentioned error. Please let me know whether I am going in the right path or  not?

How to start the StreamInsight server and how to connect that. Even it is a basic question but as I am very new, it could be a big problem for me. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

while connecting to the server, I am entering http://localhost/StreamInsight/parkmobile in the address.

If you installed the SI instance as a windows service (there is a checkbox during install), you will find the service "StreamInsight (YourInstanceName)" under Services list. Start it and then recheck your connection in Event Flow Debugger.
