6: Missing or invalid or duplicate Transaction set identifier 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/EDI/X12/2006#X12_00401_271' RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are trying to generate a XML from 271 flat file.

We did set according to the tutorial 'Walkthrough: Receiving EDI Interchanges'.

When we provide the input file in the Receive location we are encountering the following error msg.

Error encountered during parsing. The X12 transaction set with id '' contained in functional group with id '1', in interchange with id '296002808', with sender id 'ABCDE', receiver id '1234567 ' is being suspended with following errors:

    Error: 1 (Miscellaneous error)

6: Missing or invalid or duplicate Transaction set identifier 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/EDI/X12/2006#X12_00401_271'.

The 997 and TA1 files are generated successfully but fails while generating the Interchange XML file.

    Any help is greatly Appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Karthik.

  • Hi,
This error can come beacuse of 2 reasons:

1- If you deployed a schema more than once.
2- you entered wrong default target namspace.
default target namspace should be "http://schemas.microsoft.com/BizTalk/EDI/X12/2006" .

    Thanks

  • I had this issue before. Make sure you have the correct 271 schema deployed/published to the BizTalk application. Also make sure that you didn;t publish the same 271 schema more than once. In my case I had two instances of an 837P schema published and it was throwing this error.

  • This helped me.

One question, is there a way to share the same schema for multiple parties (like put it in common project and share this project among other projects) ?

I remember reading if I share schema it causes issues(, so you have change namespace ), is this true for any scenario ?
I really did not understand why we have to change schema target namespace for each customer and deploy multiple times ?

    Thanks in advance

  • One question, is there a way to share the same schema for multiple parties (like put it in common project and share this project among other projects) ?

Ans: Yes. You can create a project which includes many edi schemas, and another project can add reference to use these edi schemas.

I remember reading if I share schema it causes issues(, so you have change namespace ), is this true for any scenario ?
Ans: Sharing schema won't cause any problem. The only situation you have to change the Target namespace is you deploy the same schema to biztalk many times. Because you have to change the Target namespace to keep each schema to be unique in biztalk.

I really did not understand why we have to change schema target namespace for each customer and deploy multiple times ?
Ans: If you need change some edi elements' definition to fulfill customer's requirement, you have to split this schema from the standard edi schema. After you modify this schema for your customer, in order to keep this schema is unique one in biztalk, you have to change its default Target namespace.
