  • Except get it to install!

This is more a comment (or shriek of anguish) than a question. For all we know you could be trying to install it on some ancient 486 box with 16Mb of RAM.

  • I have the same problem, I'm trying to install from the ISO image and it always fails at this point no matter which product I try to install.

    I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit.

  • How are you using the ISO image?  Are you burning a CD from it.  Recommended.  Make sure that you select the proper file system for the image.  You might wish to try the UDF or the Joliet file systems if you are using IsoBuster.

  • I tried that and still no luck, I also tried using MagicISO instead of burning and it still didn't work so I don't think this is where the problem is.

  • I wonder if you are having a problem with the x64.

I have been searching for requirements or if there is a different version for x86 and x64.  Nothing.

  • I don't see why, I installed Visual Basic and Web Developer 2008 on a Vista Ultimate x64 PC without any problems, and it seems that if the 2010 edition has compatibility problems with Windows 7 then thats not really putting Microsoft in a good light.

Anyway, I think it's time to break out the Virtual Machines again.

  • So it should wor, but to be honest I've given up on running it on Windows 7 and got it running on a virtual XP machine.

    Thanks anyway

  • This makes no sense at all. I have tried all of the things mentioned above and still it stops and says it will not install anything! What kind of crap is this? Not the way to get students to learn this whizbang technology. I would just go with Java if I could get my money back from my college. The craziest thing yet is that I got it to install in a VirtualBox WinXp virtual machine on friggin' Ubuntu Linux 10.10! Now I have the best of both worlds and I don't have to throw out all that old WinXp stuff I have!

    Way to Go Microsoft!
