Proper way to specify in Visual Studio 2015 - Project Properties-Configuration for Additional Include Directories?!

    Question

  • Dear VS experts out there:

    I am at a loss about the proper way to handle the error "c1083".   I have tested the solution as follows, and it failed.

    Please help!!

    #include "stdafx.h"

    #include <stdlib.h>

    #include <iostream>

    #include <sstream>

    #include <stdexcept>

    #include "mysql_connection.h"

    #include <cppconn/driver.h>

    #include <cppconn/exception.h>

    #include <cppconn/resultset.h>

    #include <cppconn/statement.h>

    #include <cppconn/prepared_statement.h>

    At Project Properties-Configuration:

    C/C++ General

    Additional Include Directories--

    “C:\Users\ChanB\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\mysql_connection.h “

    entered as shown in “header” space where “database mysql C++ v1.cpp” listed with “x”

    Release / Build produces the following error message.

    >database mysql c++ v1.cpp(10): fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'mysql_connection.h': No such file or directory

    Thanks in advance!!

Answers

  • Can you try adding just the directory in C/C++ General > Additional Include Directories:

    C:\Users\ChanB\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\

    instead of the full file name?

    “C:\Users\ChanB\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\mysql_connection.h
