  • C++11 is the new C++ standard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%2B%2B11

    You can use these features from Visual C++ 2012 / Visual Studio 2012.

    For a list of the C++11 (previously known as C++0X)

    Footnote:

    Visual C++ 2005 had VC++ compiler version 8.
    Visual C++ 2008 had VC++ compiler version 9.

  • i don't have windows 8.

    What *do* you have? You should be able to install
    Visual Studio Express 2012 *for Windows Desktop*
    on Win7.

  • One additional point of clarification:

    Your subject refers to "Visual C++ 2011".
    There is/was no such product. There is a
    version 11 of the compiler, which is what
    you get with Visual Studio/C++ 2012.
