Webbrowsers in Visual Basic 2015 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys, i hope my question is at the right topic.

I am making a WFA in VB Express 2015, in which i load the google maps through a webbrowser (inside my application). My application uses IE as the default webbrowser but it crashes all the time or it appears a message that "the content might not appear properly".

Is there a way to use another webbrowser (chrome or Mozilla) instead of IE?

    Kind regards

  • I've never used it, but there is a NuGet package called CefSharp that claims to be a Chromium based browser for .Net so you can give it a try.

Here's the GitHub project link (search the NuGet Package Manager to install the NuGet package through VS).

  • Are you using IE or the WebBrowser control? The WebBrowser control defaults to IE 7 emulation. If you are displaying content using newer technology that might explain the issue.

It's much easier to help if you post code of what you are doing.

  • You probably are not using the WebBrowser control properly.

A couple of days ago someone said they had a problem installing a program they wrote that uses CefSharp.
