USB Drivers not installing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Not sure what is going on. I have an HP TX2z-1000 product number FR171AV. I am not able to use any of my USB ports! I did the install with my USB keyboard and mouse and now neither one of them work! I used a DVD for the install. Also worth mentioning this is a tablet PC.

    Thanks in advance.

    UPDATE

Also I am getting this message under each device's properties under the device manager.

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

I tried booting up with F8 but I was lost with the GUI interface there.

  • I actually reinstalled from the disk. I re-downloaded the .iso and re-burned the disk. I must have had a bad burn or a bad download everything is working now.

  • Hey KF5FPP,

Are you saying that every device in device manager is showing the Error Code 52 for the status when you go into properties of the device, or just the USB devices?  You may have used corrupt media for the install.  Short of reinstalling the OS, I suggest you boot up with F8 again and choose Troubleshoot and then Refresh your PC.  The Refresh will retain your files and personalizations and your PC settings will be restored to their defaults, although any applications that you've installed will need to be resinstalled.  This may help with any missing driver files that could be the cause of this issue.  Please reply with results.

    Gary
