Why is there a limit on number of accounts returned by the EnumMembers API RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to do a massive cleanup in a private domain, after a long Beta cycle, resulting with the need to delete some 2000 accounts from domains.live.com. It seems that the simple method:

    public string[] GetLiveAccounts(int count)
            {
                DomainManager domainManager = LoginAdministrator(adminUserName, adminPassword, domainName);
                return domainManager.EnumMembers(domainName, "", count);
            }

    returns at most 500 "account names" (user IDs). How do I get them all at once - as I need to use sorting and searching of my own in order to decide which accounts need to be deleted?

  • Hi Nik, it sounds like you're using the Windows Live Admin Center SDK, not Live Connect.  If so I think the correct channel is https://domains.live.com/support.

  • I cannot find anything at the site pointed to by https://domains.live.com/support that even remotely looks like place to discuss or get help with Live Admin Center SDK. There is an email address (dsupport@microsoft.com) where I sent more messages than I would like to admit, as getting nowhere after three attempts should make a reasonable person understand that 10 additional attempts would not result with a different outcome :-)

    The question is really this: Live Admin Center SDK is the primary tool to manage credentials accepted by HealthVault; so how could it be that there is no help available on such critical component of a service that Microsoft spent (likely) more than a billion dollars to build and maintain?
