Building WMDC replacement driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device center for communication between PDA and PC. We have about 200 devices outside our company on different systems. The most problems we have with communication is because of a bad connection. Device isn`t found anymore, WMDC doesn`t start, reinstallation WMDC required, to many profiles, etc.

I`m looking for a way to build a custom driver for the communication between the PC and PDA without using WMDC or ActiveSync. Can someone give me a direction how I can build a communication driver?

I normally work with VB.NET but also have basic knowledge on C and C++.

  • not a driver development question. Regardless, if the AS on the wire protocol is not publicly documented, you need to contact Microsoft support to see if they will licence it
