  • The samples were designed for use by pen, not touch. One doesn't typically ink by touch.

    In MainPage.Xaml.cs take a look at following code in the OnCanvasPointerPressed method:

                // Accept input only from a pen or mouse with the left button pressed.   
                PointerDeviceType pointerDevType = e.Pointer.PointerDeviceType; 
                if (pointerDevType == PointerDeviceType.Pen || 
                        pointerDevType == PointerDeviceType.Mouse && 
                        pt.Properties.IsLeftButtonPressed) 

    The second sample has similar code.

    How to extend this to touch input should be obvious.
