HID devices of Composite device is not going to enter selective suspend (D2) RRS feed

  • Question

  • HID devices of Composite device is not going to enter selective suspend (D2).

I know the HID device can enter selective suspend if we set the EnableSelectiveSuspend = 1 in the registry by its VID/PID.

It is ok when only one stand alone HID device.

But my device is a USB composite device with two HID devices, I found that they can't enter selective suspend by the same way.

So for the composite device, is there is any setting or any way to make selective suspend take effect ?

  • For the composite device, EnableSelectiveSuspend will need to be set on the Enum key for the individual HID functions as opposed to the device. The enum key representing the function will have a suffix of MI_XX. Once both the HID functions go to Selective suspend, the composite device should automatically go to Selective suspend as well.
