Sharepoint 2010 pages different from previous versions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Community

In previous versions of Sharepoint when you created a document there
would be sections for web parts on the right, left, bottom and middle of the document.

Which page in Sharepoint 2010 also has sections for web part on all sides
and the middle of the document like that?

        Thank you

  • SharePoint 2010 still has these pages, they are called web part pages. SharePoint 2010 also has a different kind of page called a wiki page and its even better, it can arrange web parts in any way you want inline with tables or images or free text or whatever. If you go to Create->Web Part Page you can pick a web part arrangement and a document library for it to live in. Normally you'd have web part pages live in the Site Pages library, even though the site pages library steers you towards wiki pages.
