Add a runtime config file for VC6 application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here is a VC++ application (VC6APP.exe), its development envirioment is VS 6.0. Now I want to add a config file for it. In config file, there is only one element: <runtime>, see following config file:

    <configuration>
        <runtime>
            <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
        </runtime>
    </configuration>

    If I copy a config file from VS2010 C# output path into the directory of VC6APP.exe, and then modify the name to VC6APP.exe.config. This VC6APP.exe.config also does work.

    My question is that : Is it OK for the operation on creating VC6APP.exe.config?

    Thanks

  • Hi Scott,

    Welcome to the MSND Forum.

    Based on my understanding, it is OK. Before you replace the original config, please make sure all the settings in current configuration file is OK, or your application may not work well.

    Best regards,
