Unable to RDP into Azure Suse Linux VM with Gnome Desktop and XRDP installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a SUSE Linux VM, installed the gnome-desktop and xrdp using zypper and then started xrdp.  This was all done via SSH in Putty.

When I attempt to log to the VM via RDP, I get the following messages:

connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port xxx

    sesman connect ok

sending login info to session manager, please wait....

xrdp_mm_process_login_response : login successful for display

    started connecting

    connecting to 127.0.0.1 yyyy

    error - problem connecting...

    Anyone seen this before?

  • Did xrdp install go well, is service running and is config file ok? As you can access VM via Putty, you should be able to check this.

Second, what port are you using and is that port opend on VM firewall and in Azure endpoint?
