Report Viewer 2008 SP1 - How to update my application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I downloaded and installed the VS2008 SP1 and the ReportViewer 2008 SP1 redistributable.

My existing app already uses the report viewer 2008 control but there are rendering issues with embedded reports w/ a matrix.

I'm hoping the SP1 corrects this, but when I tried to add the new DLL reference to my project, the only version I could find on the .net List is the version already loaded in my project

Are these the update SP1 dll's?  If not, where can I find them and how would I add them to the project?

    Micorosft.ReportViewer.Common.dll   v9.0.0.0  runtime: v2.0.50727 FileVersion: (via Explorer) 9.0.30729.1
    Micorosft.ReportViewer.WinForms.dll   v9.0.0.0  runtime: v2.0.50727 FileVersion: (via Explorer) 9.0.30729.1

    Thank you,

    Jordan

  • Could you please be more specefic about where you are seeing the previous file version of 9.0.21022.8? This shouldn't be anywhere in your project or in the .NET list of referenceable assemblies. Your project should use the assembly name version which is 9.0.0.0 and did not change. It shouldn't se the file version.

9.0.30729.1 is the file version of the SP1 DLLs.

  • Hi,

Sorry if I wasn't clear.  The file version (9.0.30729.1) is visible in explorer if I open the folder
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\ReportViewer\
by going to Start -> Run or by going through "My Computer".

Yes I noticed that the .Net list of assemblies listed a v9.0.0.0 version number.
I was concerned that the SP1 update had not completed, given that the .Net assembly list's version number for the DLL
    remained the same (v9.0.0.0)

    Thank you for your help.
