Unable to connect with projects originally compiled for CE5,CE6 on Windows 7. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Updating some older programs originally created to run on CE5 and CE6.  Compiling the programs using their respective SDK(CE5,CE6), and when attempting to connect to them via Connect button in Visual Studio 2008, get a message stating that "Connection failed. ActiveSync bootstrap initialization failed. Please connect/cradle a real device or download the User-level Windows Mobile Device Center ..."   My OS is Windows 7, which does not support ActiveSync.  What do I need to do to get these programs to run on a more modern OS?

Need to get these working because of older customers in the field needing some updates.

BTW, i can ping to the device without any problems.

    Thank you.
