Server on Raspberry Pi RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to create a UAV that has a Raspberry Pi 3 as it's main brain. I want to be able to send instructions to the UAV from another computer over a standard network connection which would require that the RPi has a server running on it so that it can be listening for those instructions and pass them on to the main code. It will also need to be able to send data as well.

    I've been trying to follow MS documents and other tutorials (which are usually just a rehash of the MS documents but even more out of date) such as:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/network-programming/listening-with-sockets

    but the code doesn't work. In fact, it fails on the first line:

    IPHostEntry ipHostInfo = Dns.Resolve(Dns.GetHostName());

    That gets the error "'Dns' does not contain a definition for 'Resolve'"

    To be honest, I think I may be looking in the wrong place.

    Are there any tutorials for creating such a server on Win IoT Core?
