Lightswitch 2012 Microsoft.CSharp Version RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have deployed my first application using Lightswitch 2012. When anyone presses save in the deployed solution they get the error message "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.CSharp, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

This issue does not happen when I am debugging the solution.

I have already tried to clean and rebuild the solution.

I have noticed that the client and common projects are using 5.0.5 and the server project is using 4.0.0 versions of the Microsoft.CSharp.dll.

Should I replace the dll in the server project? If so, how?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fixing this issue?

  • Client and common are Silverlight Dlls, whereas server is .Net 4.0. That's the reason for the different version numbers.

I would suggest that you create a new package and publish it again.

  • Thank you for your reply.

I have deployed the solution a second time, first removing the old package from the Output location and uninstalling the client from the test system.  The results were the same.

  • Hello,

Did you find a solution to your problem. I have the same issue when deploying at the client environment.

@Paul - Can you give me more details - what to change in the project before creating a new package.
