WCF-Oracle invoke simple SQL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am trying to generating a schema using the consume adapter service. It is a pretty straight forward setup.

    I am using oracleDBBinding and binding properties as follows

    EnableBiztalkCompatibilityMode -> True

    pollingstatement -> select item, loc, startdate, totdmd from  stsc.SKUProjStatic where totdmd>0;

    useambienttransaction -> false

    everything else is default

    I select Service (Inbound Operations) as Contract Type and choose POLLINGSTMT

    When I Click OK I get

    Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.MetadataException: Retrieval of Operation Metadata has failed while building WSDL at 'http://Microsoft.LobServices.OracleDB/2007/03/POLLINGSTMT' ---> Microsoft.ServiceModel.Channels.Common.MetadataException: Metadata resolution failed for OperationId: "http://Microsoft.LobServices.OracleDB/2007/03/POLLINGSTMT". ---> Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException ORA-00911: invalid character    at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException.HandleErrorHelper(Int32 errCode, OracleConnection conn, IntPtr opsErrCtx, OpoSqlValCtx* pOpoSqlValCtx, Object src, String procedure, Boolean bCheck)

  • Hi,

    You use a special charachter in your polling statement. The ORA-00911 error occurs when you try to use a special character in an SQL statement.This error occurs when a special character is used in a WHERE clause and the value is not enclosed in single quotations. So this:

    select item, loc, startdate, totdmd from  stsc.SKUProjStatic where totdmd>0;

    has to be:

    select item, loc, startdate, totdmd from  stsc.SKUProjStatic where totdmd>'0';

  • Hi Steef,

    Thank you very much for replying.

    Even after changing the statement like you had mentioned I am still getting the same error.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Nagu

  • Hi Nagu,

    Perhaps you can try it without the semicolon in the end. Other source to mitigate this error are:

  • Hi Steef,

    Yepp, that fixed it. I had to remove the semicolon.

    Thanks,

    Nagu
