how to use production domain certificate stored on WNS/IIS in .netcore API 3.1 that runs in a docker container RRS feed

Can some one help me with redirecting my Client web app (running on IIS) to my API running in a docker container.

There is loads of info about using self signed certs and development certs, that is all working.

Bud how do I copy a certificate that is generated with lets encrypt into my API project so that I can route the users to the API?

(I cant use the cert key. because letsencrypt doesn't allow that.. Or am I missing something?)

    Hope someone can help?

    Best regards,

    Mark

letsencrypt  is an alternative to using domain a certificate. As a certificate authority it manages creating  its own self signed certificates. you have a local cert generator.

First the certificate should be for the dns name of the docker host. You need the .cert file and .key file. Then follow this instructions

    https://docs.docker.com/ee/dtr/user/access-dtr/

    Hi Bruce,

    Thank you for youre response.

Are you saying that i need to generate the certificate with the local generator from windows server? (Because I am using lets encrypt now)

Is there no other way(beside using certbot on windows) to get the private key from the certificate that is generated by Lets encryot(wacs)?

    Best regards,

If you want to use letsencrypt, then you use docker container with it installed. See

    https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-letsencrypt/blob/master/README.md
