Virtual Memory Error RRS feed

  • Question

I have a product that uses embedded windows xp with 1 GB RAM and has few services running on it. Unfortunately, when the usage is around 700 MB I get virtual memory error and requires a hard reset for it to function correctly which is not affordable.

I have been monitoring few systems and here are the few entries from poolmon that are consuming a lot of memory. I can provide you with more information if needed. Please help me find the reason.

  • May be you are leaking memory in some registry or COM functions... check if you have following policy set, if so uncheck it..

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Group Policy-> Registry policy processing:
    -          Process even if the Group Policy objects have not changed.

If you have any COM application try checking memory leak in that.
