Syncml session from Windows 8.1 Machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • As given in this blog:-

Syncml session should be initiated from device in the following 3 scenarios:-

    1. Machine reboot
    2. User logon event
    3. Nightly maintenance task

Push notifications are also working fine. However we observed that Syncml sessions are not initiated upon Machine reboot and also upon User logon change.

Is there any specific reason why ?

We did not check nightly maintenance as it is scheduled to run at 2am every day.

Could owner of the blog help us understand this issue better and also throw some light ?

Device not initiating Syncml sessions is an issue for us. We don't want to rely on Push notifications for all the scenarios.

  • While I wont be any help I can confirm from my testing it seems the login checkin and reboot checkin only happen if you have enrolled on behalf of.

  • capt awesome is right.

If enrollment is done by "Enroll on behalf of", then syncml session would be initiated at user logon event.

For checking nightly maintenance task, it is possible to set desired time

MDM_SecurityStatus instance has these attributes which can be set.
