serverXMLHttp, NTLM in Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using serverXMLHttp version 3.0, in Windows XP, we're able to connect an office plug-in to a web service by sending a SOAP post to a Domino server through a proxy server. Our client would identify itself against the proxy by using NTLM. This module does not work under Windows 7. We tried to modify many of the settings for NTLM under 'Local Security Policy' such as setting the NTLM version but no luck. Also we tried to do a "netsh winHttp setProxy". We get a (HTTP) 401 back meaning there is an authentication problem. Later versions of serverXMLHttp has setProxy and setProxyCredentials methods but the latter requires user name and password to be available in the application code.

What could differ between Win 7/XP?
